ANV-KJ1: KAISER JEEP M715
ANV-KJ1
We still remember when we decided to make the Kaiser our next build ANV-KJ1.
The Blacksmith shop operates out of 2 units of a brick 6 unit commercial facility in Eden, Utah. In late 2017, we had purchased a one and a quarter ton 1967 Kaiser Jeep for Blacksmith Garage because we had never seen one before and we thought it was incredibly cool.
As such, the Kaiser pulled around the back of our shop. All of the workers in the other 4 units stopped what they were doing and came running out to see what on earth had just hoved into view. We knew we had something here and we had to make it better.
The donor vehicle chassis was sandblasted, galvanized and then epoxy painted. Staying true to its Jeep roots, it has been fitted with a brand new 6.4L hemi crate motor that should deliver 485 hp and 472 lbft of torque, a matching 545 RFE automatic gear box, Atlas transfer case 4.3:1, full coil-over link style suspension, dana 60 axles on the front and rear, KMC XD 136 Panzer wheels, Maxxis Razr MT tires while the body is being prepped for paint. The interior is being designed by Steve of Upholstery Unlimited who handled the Ring Brother's Blazer which was featured at the 2018 SEMA show.
Other than the chassis, body and firewall very little of the original vehicle will remain on this Kaiser. It is maybe the most impressive military truck build ever.
